When to Use
- Ice and packed snow riding
- Freezing rain / black ice conditions
- Winter commuting on plowed but icy roads
- Temperatures below 0°C (32°F)
⚠️ Note on Studded Tires
- Studs are louder than regular tires on dry pavement — this is normal
- Avoid hard braking on bare pavement to extend stud life
- Ride 50-100 km gently to bed in new studs before aggressive riding
- Check local regulations — most Canadian provinces allow studded tires on bikes year-round
Installation
Same process as changing any bicycle tire. Remove the old tire, install the studded tire with the rotation arrow pointing forward, and inflate to recommended pressure. See our Help Center for tire change guides.
